    A period of 18 memorable months spent first at the Walton Campus of the Civil Services Academy (November 1987 to June 1988) for the 15th Common Training Programme (CTP); followed by the 10th Specialised Training Programme (STP) at the District Management Group (DMG), Mall Campus of the Civil Services Academy. I still cherish some of my fondest moments in life as I tried to tame the “born rebel” in myself to a disciplined, status-quo oriented civil servant. It was not long before I gave it up as a lost cause and seniors, particularly scholarly Mr. A.Z. Faroqui (Director General), also stopped their attempts to enforce a change.
