کچھ اپنے بارے میں


1960ء کا پاکستان،جب میں سیالکوٹ میں درمیانے طبقے کے ایک گھر میں پیدا ہوا اکیسویں صدی کی دوسری دہائی کے آخر کے پاکستان سے ہر لحاظ سے مختلف تھا۔ درحقیقت ان دونوں کے درمیان موازنے کی کوئی کوشش بھی ممکن نہیں۔ ان چھ دہائیوں میں آنے والی تبدیلی نہ صرف ایک جوہری تبدیلی ہے بلکہ یہ کسی ایک نوعیت کی تبدیلی نہیں۔ یہ درحقیقت کثیر الجہت (Multi-Faceted) بھی ہے اور گھبیر (Complex) بھی۔ میری نسل کے پاکستانیوں نے اس معاشرے کو تین ہمہ جہت تبدیلیوں(Transformations) سے گزرتے دیکھا ہے۔ معاشرتی (Social)، معاشی (Economic) اور اخلاقی (Ethical)…… اور ان میں سے ہر انقلاب اپنے انداز میں اسے مکمل طور پر بدل گیا۔
